[Press Release] Japan’s Homegrown Quantum Computer Unveiled to the Public! @ Machikane Festival — November 3 (Fri, Holiday) 10:00–17:00

The Center for Quantum Information and Quantum Biology (QIQB) at the University of Osaka will open the inside of its third domestically developed quantum computer to the public during the university festival, Machikane Festival, held on November 3, 2023 (Fri, National Holiday) at the Toyonaka Campus. The event will take place from 10:00 to 17:00.

Starting at 10:00, QIQB will begin the opening of the cryogenic refrigerator used for the quantum computer. From 11:00, the team will proceed with replacing the quantum bit (qubit) chip, provided by RIKEN, and the entire process will be open for public viewing.

In addition, starting at 10:30, QIQB will hold a 15-minute introductory presentation on quantum computing every hour. At 14:30, there will also be a special presentation conducted in English for international attendees.
